“But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.” (Jeremiah 10:10)
I have been asked the question “How do you know God is the true God,” many times. For me, the answer has always been the same. Because we exist and Christianity has survived. Taking either one of these points by itself might leave a gap in my analysis. But the fact that both, we humans (and all life on earth) exist, plus the fact that Christianity has survived the test of time is enough evidence for me to claim our Heavenly Father as the one and only true God. My justification for this claim is actually quite simple. The Holy Bible provides an extremely plausible creation story. God, the designer and author of all life, created us. Period. This is actually the most scientifically plausible rationale for human life that I have encountered. In fact, all other versions attempting to explain how life began requires faith too. But as Christians put their faith in God, these other creation theories requires faith in man. You see, modern day physics does not yet have the actual scientific methods to prove evolution to be true. All humankind can have in that arena is to have smart people make claims. And I would rather trust God, than smart people. So first, God is true because He presents us with the best and most plausible explanation for our existence. Secondly, God must be true, otherwise Christianity would have ended the moment Peter said Christ died and rose from the grave “AND YOU ARE ALL WITNESSES OF THIS.” (Acts 2:32) There was no recorded rebuttal to this statement, and Christianity grew from that moment into our current time. Either meaning that crowd accepted a lie, or they did see Christ alive after dying on the cross. In the end, the evidence for God is great. Today, know that just these two facts alone can form a reasonable basis for the true and living God.
