“Then Peter said, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’ Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” (Acts 3:6-10)
Imagine the boldness that Peter had, to confidently look at a man who was lame from birth, and say “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” There was no doubt in his mind, Peter knew that God would use this man’s healed legs to elevate the name of Jesus for those who witnessed it. God performed the miracle, but Peter was the vessel that God used to call out the almighty and powerful name of Christ Jesus. Without any fear of disappointment, or questioning, Peter knew that God would heal this man. How incredible would it be to have that type of confidence and to feel that strong of a connection to the Holy Spirit within, to call upon the name of Jesus and heal a man who had never taken a step on his own legs? How wonderful would it be to see this man walking and jumping for joy while praising God? Well the truth is that we all have the Holy Spirit within us. We all can call on the Lord to do big things in the lives of His people. The curtain has been torn, Jesus won the battle against death, and we all have a special indwelling of the Holy Spirit. So today, be bold and pray big; pray loud; and pray confidently; because our God is able!
