“To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.” (Titus 1:15-16)
For Christians there are numerous pieces of evidence that forms a convincing basis for our belief. But in the end, the evidence we claim is still predicated on our faith. By this I mean, that the clearest examples of God’s work in our lives are obvious to us (the believers) because we believe. For those who have not yet found that saving faith in our Lord Christ Jesus, to them, miracles are still coincidences. They have been confused and corrupted by other influences. Truth is the purest of all statements. It is uncompromising and uncorrupted by anything else. When details are added to truth, they only add to the clarity of the truth, because complete truth cannot be degraded. As Christians, we remain pure, by holding onto the truth and standing firm in our faith. Those that attempt to misuse or distort the truth about God are indeed fighting against the ultimate truth and power of the universe. And those who fully know the power and authority of God, yet turn their back on Him by allowing the corruption of the world into their life have been labeled disobedient and detestable (in God’s eye’s). So for those who know the truth and have faith, they remain pure. While those who do not believe, reject the truth and so “nothing can be pure” about them. Today, know that any purity within us, was granted to us when we accepted the one and only true God. We became saved when God sent His son to die for us. This is the truth that cannot be altered. It is the truth that is pure and the foundation of our faith. And this is the truth that saves.
