“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Yesterday was one of those days where I was just completely distracted. I had what seemed like a million things on my mind. Some thoughts were legitimate concerns, some were the everyday work obstacles, but there was also a bit of worry and disappointment mixed in as well. Basically, the perfect distraction cocktail. Needless to say, all this non-sense going on in my head didn’t change any of my deadlines. The month end is a few days away, which is always a busy time at work. My dad unexpectedly ended up in the ER so I was trying to clear my schedule and make sure I could get to my parents place if needed. And the list goes on… But looking at the verse of the day from https://www.biblegateway.com/ made me realize how true Isaiah 26:3 is; and how hard it can be to apply in real life. Yesterday, as an example, I had a lot on my plate (as they say) and I let my mind drift around in a scattered nature without purpose. Effectively, I was like a ship going out to see in stormy weather and just letting the waves push me around at will. I struggled through the day until the very moment that I read this scripture verse and realized that God was there all along. Like the bright signal from a lighthouse, we know that God’s light will shine through the storm. Even when we remain in the high seas with the waves of life crashing down on us. We find comfort in God and He gives us that bearing back to stable ground. It is true, when we allow our thoughts and worries to take over, we lose focus on what really matters. So today, maintain a steadfast focus on Christ Jesus. Don’t let Him out of your sight. Because through that trust in God, you will find peace.
