“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12)

Here in today’s verse, the Apostle John gives us the fundamental Christian statement of faith. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16. Those who take on this saving grace and have faith in the Son God had sent, have Christ Jesus within them, and so “has life.” Those who refuse the cornerstone, also refuse the shelter in which the church was built. Without faith, one cannot believe the true Word of God. And so those who do not believe, separate themselves from the Holy Messiah sent to save us. In turn, when the non-believer dies, God gives them exactly what they wished for; an eternity separated from Him. So again, those with faith – have the Son within – and have life with Jesus through eternity. Those without faith – have rejected the Son – which rejects the Father – leaving God to let the non-believers have all that they cherished about the world. But we know, that the world will be destroyed and cleansed by the Holy fire of God. And all of the world that the non-believers have held onto will perish. This is why John states that “whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” These are fundamental truths that we believe as Christians. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” – John 14:6. Jesus, who is God, declared Himself that there is only one way to Heaven. By faith in the “truth and the life” which is Christ Jesus. This is the good news of the gospel. Come to know and love Jesus, putting your life into His hands and be saved. Then be consumed by the life that Jesus offers, and spread His love and this saving message to all you know.
