“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10)

When you are trying to market yourself or your organization to a new customer, nothing beats clarity. Keep things simple, understandable, and relevant. If you can’t hold yourself to these three concepts than the conversation has been wasted and this new potential customer has been lost before you even got started. In the world of marketing, people want to know upfront; what are you offering and how does what your offering help them. People buying products or services for a company do so for a purpose. From a marketing perspective, your job is to clearly state what you have to offer and identify how it could be used to fit the need. With all this in mind, today’s scripture verse beautifully embodies the basic principles of keeping it simple, understandable, and relevant. All in two verses, the Apostle Paul describes how to become a Christian and how to guarantee an eternity with God in Heaven. Simply declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe it. Know that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and that God raised Him from the grave – and believe it. That’s it! That’s all the rules and regulations we need to be a Christian. That’s all that separates us from any other religion. Christ died and rose again. And believing this (and this alone) affords us access to God in Heaven for all eternity. Amen! So armed with these verses go out and be marketers for Christ. Bring the clarity and simplicity of these verses to the world.
