To the California EC Church Family,
All good things must come to an end.
As Paul writes in Romans 8:28: “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
I am writing you this letter to inform you that I have submitted my letter of resignation to the Pastoral Relations Committee of California EC Church (CECC) effective June 30th 2022. The reason for my resignation is that I have accepted a new stationing to serve as the next Lead Pastor of Bethel EC Church in Dixon, Illinois beginning July 1, 2022.
My time serving as Pastor of CECC over the last 7 years has been one of the greatest honors of my life! I have had the great privilege of sharing the Gospel through preaching, teaching, serving our church family, and community, and through many other various connections over the years. I pray that we have been a blessing to you, just as you have been an incredible blessing to the entire Mennig family. Whether it be a Sunday morning worship experience or the countless times God brought us together throughout the week – the Lord has been faithful to us always. California Church will always hold a special place in my heart as you allowed me to grow from a young man into a (hopefully) mature father, pastor, and ordained itinerant elder in the EC Church.
I look forward to continue serving as I help the church transition to the next pastor for CECC. I know that God has already laid the burden of hope and service in a man’s heart for this church who will continue the great tradition of shepherding the family of God as you all look to “Know Christ and Make Him Known.” May this be our shared kingdom mission my brothers and sisters of California EC Church!
